Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 21, 2026
Overview
Tensor is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your browsing data, your workflows, and your AI conversations belong to you — not us.
The short version: We collect minimal data. Your browsing history, page content, and personal information are never sent to our servers. Everything stays local.
Data We Collect
We keep data collection to an absolute minimum:
- Extension usage analytics (opt-in only) — Anonymized feature usage metrics to help us improve Tensor. This is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent to enable.
- Crash reports — When the extension encounters an error, a minimal crash report may be sent to help us diagnose and fix bugs. These contain no personal data.
We do NOT collect: browsing history, page content, form data, passwords, personal information, or anything you type into websites. None of this data ever touches our servers.
AI Provider Data
When you use Tensor's AI features, your prompts and conversations are sent directly to your chosen AI provider — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or your local Ollama instance.
We do not proxy, intercept, log, or store any of this data. The communication happens directly between your browser and the provider's API.
Your API keys are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and are never transmitted to our servers. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
Local Storage
All of the following are stored locally in your browser and never leave your device:
- Extension settings and preferences
- Custom workflows and automations
- Highlights and annotations
- Knowledge base entries
- Personal context and memory
- Agent configurations and schedules
- Conversation history
We use chrome.storage APIs provided by the browser. We have no mechanism to access, read, or retrieve this data from your device.
Third-Party Services
Tensor uses the following third-party services:
- Google Fonts — For typography (Inter and JetBrains Mono). Google may collect basic request data per their privacy policy.
We do not use:
- Tracking pixels or beacons
- Advertising networks
- Analytics services (by default)
- Social media trackers
- Fingerprinting scripts
Your Rights
Your data belongs to you. At any time, you can:
- Export all data — Use the built-in export feature in Settings to download a complete copy of everything Tensor stores.
- Delete all data — Clear all stored data from Settings, or simply uninstall the extension.
- Opt out of analytics — Disable usage analytics at any time from Settings. It's off by default.
- Uninstall — Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data automatically.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
For major changes that materially affect how we handle data, we'll announce the update in our changelog and within the extension itself.
